Button and contact group of the Tauren Mech Mod
The mechanical mod has a constant contact – i.e. the battery is in constant contact with the atomizer and the device button, but does not close the circuit.
The button is made in the form of a cylinder with a closed contact group. On the bottom of the button, you can see an engraving of a shield with slightly sharp edges, but they do not cut your fingers. At the same time, they help to find this shield by touch and determine where to press. At the top, there is a platform with holes and a small bulge for contact with the battery. Around the contact pad is plastic, which isolates it from the button body, preventing inadvertent short-circuiting of the circuit when this is not required at all.
The button stroke is about 2 mm. On the one hand, this is good – you will not need to press the pusher too hard inward, on the other hand, it is even better, the probability of “nano-touching” and the subsequent short-circuiting of the circuit are excluded, the winding will be intact and safe. And I am that person who always either takes out the battery during periods of inactivity of the pipe, or unscrews the button. Whether this paranoia is reasonable – who the hell knows.
Impressions
And here we will add salt. The thing is that the engravings are deep and the edges are not rounded in any way. And if the engraving of the fur name does not cause any inconvenience, then the “head” frankly cuts off the epithelium from the palm and fingers and collects it in itself. And although nothing extra was found “inside the head” during a week of moderate use, everything is still ahead. Another stone in the manufacturer’s garden will fly for the button. When it is fully screwed, it wobbles a little to the sides due to poor fit, as well as the play of the button itself, on which the shield is engraved. But Chinese production has rarely been distinguished by good quality. And the price of the mod is very democratic, so this can be forgiven, although not very pleasant. But the engravings on the case will either have to be “finished” yourself, or get used to and tolerate their sharpness.
In general, I liked the fur. For the price at which it is sold – give it two. But for the “insufficient” intensity of red – a hard minus. My favorite “Dead Rabbit” looks unsightly on it, but you can always choose a drip tip that matches the color and style. But if the harmony of the set is not important, then you can hang the Pandemic on 26 mm. It fits comfortably in the hand and, if you do not touch the engravings, does not irritate. I also tried using it with a lower grip – did not experience any problems at all, only again, engravings. As you can see in the photo above, both black and “gold” drip tips look pretty good on it. And the overall picture can be completed with custom drip tips. But, alas, a brass pipe cannot compete with mods with a side button – they will be lower in any case.
