In this review I will talk about the line of one of the most famous disposable electronic cigarettes, HQD in their MAXX version.
Packaging HQD MAXX
HQD MAXX disposables are sold in cardboard boxes with colorful and bright printing. On the front side there is a photo of the device, its description (number of puffs, nicotine strength, volume of liquid) and at the bottom a warning about the dangers of nicotine. On the reverse side are technical specifications, warnings and restrictions, manufacturer’s address and certificate marks. The sides are given over to design elements. e-liquids in canada Here you can also find a sticker with a QR code and a hologram, which will confirm the authenticity of the device you just purchased.
Inside you will find a disposable blister with a color print on both sides, and what lies inside is easy to see through a small transparent window.
HQD MAXX. Constructive
The design of the HQD MAXX sticks differs from the usual cylindrical “markers”. These sticks are more like small pods, only on the protruding flat edge there are no buttons or screen, only the inscription MAXX and the name of the flavor with a small picture above. The case material is aluminum; the coating is plain with a metallic effect. On top there is a plastic mouthpiece, on the bottom there is a plastic plug covering the electronics. The device turns on when tightened, showing its operation by the glow of a green dot on the bottom end.
There is also mandatory protection for the stick in the form of a silicone cap, which protects the mouthpiece from dust while being carried. And also from accidental activation of the device during transportation.
Testing and tastes of HQD MAXX
Inside each disposable device there is a battery containing a reactive alkali metal – lithium. Such batteries should not be thrown away with household waste, but should be taken for recycling or special disposal.
HQD MAXX – LUSH ICE
The smell of watermelon is recognizable immediately after opening the blister. The taste is very rich (this generally applies to all HQD MAXX disposables, so I won’t write about it further). Watermelon is represented by a mixture of sweet pulp and not very sweet rind; there is no bitter aftertaste of the seeds. The chill is somewhere between medium and strong, it doesn’t freeze your brains out, but it doesn’t let you relax either. The sweetness is moderate, and after a long vaping it drops to low. In the aftertaste, both nicotine and a mint residue are clearly felt, like chewing gum.
HQD MAXX – STRAWBERRY WATERMELON
The smell is very pleasant – ripe and sweet strawberries in the foreground and juicy watermelon in the background. The vapor is sweet and slightly oily as you exhale. Strawberry definitely leads in taste, perhaps even with a hint of cream. Watermelon appears exclusively in the aftertaste, and adds a crusty taste, and then a slight chill. As for me, the watermelon was added here in vain; it would have been better without it.
HQD MAXX – STRAWBERRY BANANA
Another stick with a pronounced strawberry and sweet taste. This time it’s not cold at all. The smell of strawberries predominates during vaping, but afterwards the aroma of banana clearly dominates the room. The inhale tastes candy-like and pleasant, a deep inhale reveals both strawberry and banana. But the exhale is somewhat disappointing – chemical notes appear. The aftertaste is more of banana, long and sweet.
HQD MAXX – PINEAPPLE
The smell of pineapple is similar to both the live fruit and its canned version (the one with pieces). The taste while vaping is sweet and rich, like rings in sugar syrup. During exhalation there is a pleasant pineapple sourness, and a slight chill is visible in the aftertaste, but with prolonged vaping a faint chemical taste of nicotine still appears. But in the end – just a decent and pleasant mono taste.
HQD MAXX – KIWI POMEGRANATE
The smell of the disposable is incomprehensible: fruity and sweet, but nothing more. The taste when inhaling is with a decent chill, then it’s simply sweet and only when you exhale you can make out the individual components in it. Kiwi to a greater extent, and grant exclusively in the aftertaste. Mixologists could simply call it “multi-fruit”, but after 3-4 puffs you stop paying attention to the taste sensations (pleasant – and that’s okay). The aftertaste is long, with chill and sourness, but I have nothing more to say about this stick.
HQD MAXX. Personal impressions
All HQD MAXX mixes are very rich, perhaps even a little too rich, and due to the decent concentration of nicotine in the composition, these “sticks” will definitely surprise you at the first inhalation (perhaps even to the point of involuntary coughing). However, after a short period of getting used to it, almost all tastes will open up and will bring an extremely pleasant experience. Why “almost”? Yes, because mixologists didn’t get into blackberries at all, kiwi and pomegranate very vaguely resemble themselves, and strawberries and bananas contain flavors that are completely unusual for them. Otherwise, these are worthy one-offs that fully justify the hype around their name.
